GRANTS PROGRAM

Learn more about the North River Roots Community Grants and find out if your organization is a good fit to apply for funding.

We are proud to work with Metro to offer the North River Roots Community Grants beginning in Spring 2025. This program is part of Metro’s  regional program to enhance communities surrounding the region’s nine waste transfer facilities. Funding for the grants comes from fees collected at the transfer facility stations.

Grant Timeline

Application Opens:  March 20th, 2025

Application Deadline: May 5th, 2025

Grant Process

Portland Harbor Community Coalition will award $75,000 total in grants in this first cycle.

Each grant award can range from $3000 to $20,000.

The North River Roots Community Grants Committee consists of: Anjeanette Brown, Ashley Slaughter, Chiarra Bettega, Christina Jenkins, Douglas Young, Justin Gibson, Laura Feldman, Nico Wind Cordova, Ronald Craig, Sadie Atwell, Shane Ruyle, and Som Subedi.

The committee will review applications in May and announce the awards in June.  Initial funding will be distributed in July.
